All Day Classes - Important Announcement Re: Accreditation Visit

The final schedule of the accreditation visit is on September 3-5.  You are required to wear your school uniform on these dates.  You are also to memorize at least the vision and mission of the college and the university, if not the entire VGMO, in case you will be interviewed by some accreditors.  Your attendance will also be required during the opening and the closing program.

This will be our supposed schedule next week:

IT2 day (Data Structures)
  • Monday - I will not meet you anymore
  • Tuesday - I will re-discuss Hashing again or I might give a dummy lab exercise (in case our class is chosen to be observed by the accreditors)
CS2 (Data Structures)
  • Wednesday - I will re-discuss Hashing again (in case our class is chosen to be observed by the accreditors)
  • Thursday - I will not meet you anymore (the accreditation closing program will be set in the afternoon)
CS2 (SPL)
  • Monday - presentors will present on Chapter 8 (you might re-present your presentation here on Wednesday given some coaching)
  • Wednesday - continuation on Chapter 8 (Make sure that you deliver your presentation in well-polished manner because you need to impress the accreditors, in case we will be observed by them)
 Automata
  • Tuesday - midterm exam
  • Thursday - I will discuss the answers to the midterm exam so that we will have something to discuss, in case our class will be observed by the accreditors.

To my data structure classes:

I want to apologize for I haven't really finished your prelim grades yet due to our very busy schedule in preparation for the upcoming accreditation.  I might need a week-long break after the "stressful" accreditation activity so I can make use of that time to finish up your grades.  If time permits, I will also include your midterm grades as well.

SPL - Announcement (Updated as of Today, 2:30pm)

You will have your long test tomorrow on Chapter 7.

I want to raise also the concern of Ms. Ella Baguio's supposedly group mates in Chapter 9 (Ms. Luna and Mr. Solis) who dropped the course already.  Since she is the only one left in her group, I would like to transfer Ms. Crebillo and Ms. Panganiban (from Chapter 14) to be Ella's partner in Chapter 9.  We will not be covering Chapter 14 anymore so we'll end this semester with the topic on Support for OOP.

Data Structures - Important Announcement Re: Long Test on Hashing

The IC Dean just informed us earlier this afternoon that we will spend the entire day of August 27 (Tuesday) to finish and polish all accreditation documents in preparation for the accreditation visit scheduled on September 3-6.  As such, the long test on Hashing will be re-scheduled as follow:
  • CS Day :  August 22 (Thursday), 2:00-3:30pm
  • IT Day :  August 22 (Thursday), 3:30-5:00pm  (If this schedule is inconvenient for you, then you may join the evening schedule.  If both schedules are inconvenient for you, please let me know in advance.)
  • IT Eve :  August 24 (Saturday), 2:00-3:30pm

We are actually advance in our topic outline.  During the accreditation visit, some accreditors might observe some classes.  In the event that our class will be chosen, I will be repeating the lectures again.  Hence, your cooperation and participation are expected of you during the class observation.

Automata and Data Structures - Announcement

Automata
  • We will not meet this Thursday for the same reason I mentioned earlier in class today.  I will, instead, use our time to check the accreditation documents in my assigned area.  We will meet next week.

Data Structures (All Classes)
  • I'm still checking your prelim exercises, and hopefully I can finish them all this weekend.  So that I can show you your grades as soon as I'm done checking, I will upload your class record in our dropbox folder.  If you want to be discreet with your grades, you may use codenames.  You don't need to email your codename, just create a text file and save it using your desired codename.  Upload this text file in your own shared dropbox folder.

“One reason for doing the right thing today is tomorrow.”- unknown
